Kapono Barton earned his Master of Social Work from Utah State University. Before joining Wasatch Pediatrics in 2022, he served as a social worker for the state of Utah for 10 years. He worked with children of all ages, specializing in trauma, child abuse, anxiety, and depression. Currently, Kapono provides in-office therapy at our Southpoint location as well as brief interventions, assessments, and community referrals. He emphasizes an approach that tailors care for children individually, even if they are from the same family.
Kapono grew up on the Big Island in beautiful Hawaii and met his wife at college. She was a Utah native and convinced him to leave paradise for the cold mountains of Utah. Over the years, he has loved collecting and caring for more than 20 house plants. When not working, Kapono can be found spending time with his wife and three children.
