"Building trust, nurturing healthy futures, and making every child feel seen and heard."

Background

Katie Wardenburg joined our Cottonwood office in 2026. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner and received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She provides pediatric primary care and brings an extensive nursing background from Primary Children’s Hospital in the PICU/Cardiac ICU and in the NICU at the University of Utah Hospital.

Katie understands how each stage of childhood brings its own unique needs, developmental milestones, and challenges. Her approach centers around building trust, showing kindness, and meeting children where they are to best support them and their families. She strives to make each visit as positive and comfortable as possible. By inviting kids to participate in their care, giving them choices when appropriate, and finding ways to make the experience fun, Katie believes these small moments can help children and teens feel more confident and build a trusting relationship with their healthcare provider. She also prioritizes giving patients and families adequate time to express their concerns, ask questions, and share what they need at visits.

Katie was born and raised in Murray, Utah. She enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and skiing with her husband and their three children, including their twins. Otherwise, you’ll find her caring for her ever-growing collection of indoor plants or working on a craft project.
