Background

Dr. Loran Hayes is a Licensed Psychologist and the Mental Health Director at our Draper location.  He received his master’s degree and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in the Clinical Child and Family Specialty Track from the University of Utah.  He went on to complete his pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral residency at the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute in Salt Lake City, where he continued to specialize in working with children, adolescents, and their families.  In 2019, he joined our Wasatch Pediatrics care team.

Dr. Hayes believes in providing quality, evidence-based behavioral and mental health care to children, teens, and their families.  He practices behavior and cognitive-behavior therapy for a wide variety of common childhood concerns. He has particular expertise in the areas of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, and tic disorders/Tourette syndrome. Dr. Hayes also has extensive experience in psychological assessment of children and adolescents, particularly in the area of autism spectrum disorder diagnosis. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Hayes has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific journal publications and book chapters.

Dr. Hayes is a California native but moved to Utah for graduate school and decided to stay after falling in love with the area.  Outside of work, Dr. Hayes loves to cook, hike, ski, and spend time with his family exploring the Mountain West.  He and his wife have two sons.
