Dr. Monica Schaffer relocated with her family to Park City over 20 years ago to live the mountain lifestyle.  She is originally from Minnesota but her medical training has taken her all over the country.  She earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine then completed her pediatrics residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.  Dr. Shaffer is board-certified in Pediatrics.

Since joining our Summit office in 2004, she has been instrumental and helping to implement a medical home model of care.  As a pediatrician, she enjoys providing care to families in a way that addresses all aspects of children’s health.  She cares for patients from the first day of life through age 20, including wellness care, mental health, and sick visits.

Dr. Shaffer’s husband is also a physician.  They have two grown daughters, who have moved on to pursue their academic dreams in other parts of the country.  She and her husband enjoy camping, biking, cooking, skiing, reading, hiking, and traveling
