“My passion in being a psychologist lies in helping parents understand their children’s strengths and areas of growth, as well as working to de-stigmatize behavioral health symptoms and conditions.”

Background

Dr. Asia Hulse received her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Missouri State University then went on to earn her Ph.D. in School Psychology from Ball State University in Indiana.  She completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral residency at The Children’s Center Utah.  In 2022, she joined our Wasatch Pediatrics team and currently practices at our Summit and Willow Creek locations.

As a psychologist, Dr. Hulse provides therapy and does psychological assessments for children and adolescents for a variety of referral concerns, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, PTSD, ADHD, Specific Learning Disorder, anxiety, depression, etc.  She is passionate about early intervention and providing psychoeducation to parents about their child’s behavioral health symptoms.  She also has specific training in evidence-based treatment for trauma, particularly related to very young children.

Her philosophy embraces a unique combination of cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic influences that are based on her training experiences.  As a result, she considers the impact of past experiences on current symptoms and takes relational and cognitive-behavioral approaches to treatment.

Dr. Hulse hails from Kansas City, Missouri and is a lifelong Chiefs fan.  In her free time, she likes to hike, read, travel, and spend time with her husband, their miniature dachshund, and friends.
