"It’s exciting to create a bond with my families and watch children grow and thrive into young adults."

Background

Dr. Amanda Nielson always knew she wanted to be a pediatrician. She grew up in London, England and moved to the U.S. to earn her undergraduate degree at Wellesley College in Massachusetts. She went on to complete her medical training at the University of Utah and pediatrics residency at Primary Children’s Hospital. She joined our Cottonwood office in 2020 and has a wide range of interests from newborn care to mental health.

When she’s not working, Dr. Nielson loves being in the mountains – a passion she developed while spending summers as a college student working as a guide for teens in Rocky Mountain National Park. Together with her husband, their three kids and dog, she enjoys hiking, skiing, and soaking up the fresh air, sunshine, and starry night sky.
