Background

Dr. Kathleen McElligott received her medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. She went on to complete both her pediatrics residency and adolescent medicine fellowship at the University of Utah.

Prior to joining our Cottonwood practice in 2013, Dr. McElligott dedicated over 20 years to providing medical care and support to thousands of children and young families across the Wasatch Front in various capacities. From 1987-2008, she served as the Director of the Teen Mother & Child Program at the University of Utah, which provided comprehensive health care for at-risk pregnant and parenting adolescents and their children. From 1985-2009, she also served as the Medical Director for Salt Lake County Youth Corrections providing care at the Salt Lake Valley Detention, Wasatch Youth, Genesis Youth, Decker Lake Youth, and Observation and Assessment Center. Additionally, she served previous terms as a member on the Board of Directors for DDI Vantage (an early intervention program for disabled children) and the SIDS Foundation Board.

Dr. McElligott enjoys teaching and loves to share her knowledge with others. She is adored by her patients and is known to have a great sense of humor. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, taking care of her garden and spending time with her family.
