Dr. Ken Broadbent is a Salt Lake City native. He attended the University of Utah as an undergraduate studying English, biology, art, and architecture. After a somewhat extended career as a professional undergraduate student, attending guitar-making school in Vermont, and a year of graduate school in English, he earned his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his pediatrics residency training at the Harriet Lane Clinic at Johns Hopkins Medical Center, then went on to found a pediatric hospitalist program in rural Maryland. Upon moving back to Salt Lake, he worked for several years with Nighttime Pediatrics, where he also served as the medical director. Dr. Broadbent has been practicing at our Salt Lake practice since 2000. He enjoys being a pediatrician and feels very fortunate to be able to have fun while working.
Ken is married to Dr. Jan Bernhisel-Broadbent, who is an allergist. They have three children and many animals. He enjoys hiking, camping, travel, art, design, literature, growing grapes and apples, horses, soccer, and any hobbies his kids are interested in. He also is very proud and loving being a grandfather to his two grandchildren.
