Our Amazing Providers

 

Dr. Goodwin and Dr. Lash were both raised in Salt Lake City (yes, they are brother and sister!). Dr. Goodwin attended the University of Utah for medical school and pediatric residency. She is board certified in pediatrics. She has a broad range of pediatric experience, including high-risk clinics, urgent care pediatrics and general practice, in both Salt Lake City and Albuquerque, New Mexico. She has three children (including twins!) and four grandchildren. Her hobbies are playing with her grandchildren, scrapbooking, gardening, and cooking for parties.

 

 

Dr. Lash attended medical school at the University of Utah and completed his pediatric residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis/St. Paul. He is board certified in pediatrics. He is married and has two sons. His hobbies include soccer, music, cooking, gardening and enjoying the outdoors. Dr. Lash enjoys working with children who have attention or school-related challenges. He speaks Spanish and has volunteered in various communities in Latin America.

 

 

 

Dr. Buchanan attended the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency at UC Davis in Sacramento. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is fluent in German. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the piano and the bagpipes, cycling, gardening, and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Rachel, have four young children: Annabelle, Clara, Henry, Ella, and Finn. They also have a little girl, Emma, who they love and miss very much.

 

Dr. Bosworth received his medical degree at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He completed his residency at the University of Minnesota and is board certified in Pediatrics. He has studied respiratory diseases in children, leading to several publications in medical journals. He speaks Portuguese and Spanish. He volunteers as a medical instructor in South America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. He enjoys hiking, fly fishing, painting, skiing, and photography. Most of all, he enjoys time with his wife and their three adventurous children.

 

 

 

Dr. Packer attended medical school at the University of Utah and completed her pediatric residency at Primary Children's Medical Center. She is board certified in pediatrics. She is married and has two little girls. She enjoys cycling, running, reading, sewing and traveling. She loves being both a pediatrician and a mom.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Ridge received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Brigham Young University.  He completed his internship and post-doctoral residency in Clinical Child Psychology at Texas Children’s Hospital.  After finishing his psychology training, Dr. Ridge went on to receive his physician assistant degree from Baylor College of Medicine.  His unique combination of degrees allows Dr. Ridge to provide both psychological and medical services at Wasatch Pediatrics.  He specializes in assessing for and treating children (ages 2 – 18) suffering from anxiety and mood disorders, AD/HD and other emotional and behavioral disorders.  Dr. Ridge utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), parent training, and medication if necessary to help children and adolescents with these difficulties.  Dr. Ridge is married and has three children, two sons and a daughter. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, swimming, and enjoying Utah’s outdoors.

Steven Ostergaard graduated from BYU as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 1979. He worked in several high risk and specialty clinics for the Utah State Health Department, and flew medical helicopter emergency transport flights with Life Flight. He works part-time in Primary Children's Emergency Room and reviews medical records for quality of care. He was in the 19th Special Force Group of the Utah National Guard as a medic and now works at Southpoint Pediatrics full time. Besides spending time with his wife and children (7 girls, 1 boy) and grandchildren for leisure, he enjoys "tatting", home remodeling, fishing, and waterskiing at Lake Powell.

 

Teresa McNaught was born and raised in Alberta, Canada where she attained her nursing degrees. She and her family moved to Sandy, Utah in 1992. As an RN, she was a Newborn ICU nurse and researcher. She received her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) Master's degree at the University of Utah. She has practiced in pediatric neurology and cardiology at Primary Children's Medical Center. She has three children and loves reading, swimming, camping and spending time with her family.

 

 

Helen Aoki was born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho. She moved to Utah after high school to attend nursing school at the University of Utah. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and her Master’s of Science in Nursing- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from the University of Utah. Prior to joining Southpoint Pediatrics, she worked at Primary Children’s Medical Center on the Neuroscience Trauma Unit for 12 years. She trained under Dr. Ridge and will be working with him to supplement and expand the mental health services that he offers. She sees patients with ADHD, depression, anxiety and other co-morbid mental health issues. She is married and has two children, a daughter and a son. In her free time she enjoys golfing, boating, running and cooking.
